The Portuguese and The Dutch

South Africa first came in contact with foriegn coutries when portuguese trades began to come from europe during the fifteenth century. The portuguese began trade with South Africa and by the seventeeth century the dutch also began to trade with Douth Africa. The people of South Africa were pushed aside by the dutch and the portuguese who used the cape of good hope as a fueling station.

The British Join In

By the ninteeth century the british began settling on the coast of South Africa. They established themselves in the cape of good hope creating an imperial rule over the native africans and the afrikaners. Conflicts arouse when gold and diamond was discovered in south africa and the britished used thier advanced technology to ensure control over south africas mineral mines.

Conflict arises

The british swept aside the ruling african government and this cause much racisim and hate in south africa. Imperialism tore south africas economy apart and many violent rebellions erupted but were easily crushed by britians advanced technology.
